I am a visual artist passionate about integrating the worlds of art and science. For my undergraduate degree, I majored in an individualized study combining fine art and computer science. In this study, entitled "Algorithms in Artmaking", I examined the parallels between the creative and computing processes. My recent work is more inspired by biology and the natural world, as opposed to the digital world, but I continue integrate elements of computer science into my art practice. While my drawings are created using traditional mediums, such as colored pencil, they often include an augmented reality (AR) overlay. I pride myself on using this overlap of media to bring the viewer into my creative process, showing step by step how I turn a traditional image or inspiration into a distinctly colorful and kaleidoscopic abstract composition.
