"Processing" is a multimedia art piece consisting of a 16" x 20" acrylic painting with an augmented reality overlay. The work examines and links my passions for art and computer science!

I began with two art pieces that I had previously created, abstracted them in iOS Procreate, then I pixelated the image in order to create a grid composition for my painting. For the AR overlay, I created an animation of two image grids. The first grid consists of images relating to computer science history as well as my current studies in CS. The second grid is comprised of images of various art-making materials. My favorite part of art is the process behind a piece, so I thought the study of individual elements from these two fields would be a good representation of my own process as an artist. Additionally, the idea of an image processing and loading allows for the fun challenge of the pixelated painting (which, although technically completed for class, I will be touching up for months to come). At the end of the day, I love being able to combine these mediums & this piece was a great exercise in patience and precision.

Painting mediums: acrylic paint & acrylic medium
